Our head physiotherapist at Sports Clinic West is David Lowther. David is a fully licensed Chartered Physiotherapist with current membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Since graduating he has established and ran two very busy, private physiotherapy practices dealing with all types of patients throughout Mayo. Aside from running these two clinics, David has worked with the Westmeath U-21 and senior footballers in addition to many other sports clubs, both male and female. He also has all the accreditation necessary to prescribe custom orthotics and assess lower limb biomechanics using our state-of-the-art Gait foot scanner.
Having representing both club and county at underage level in soccer while also playing Gaelic football he understands the need for quick and effective rehabilitation. He has a great understanding of many sports injuries as he has experienced many of them himself and continues to do so as he plays for local Gaelic football and soccer teams at the moment.
David specialises in musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation, sports injuries, orthotics/biomechanics, orthopaedics, back pain, arthritis, trigger point therapy, dry needling and core stability training.
